Catherine J. Ashley (called Cathy by everyone but her mother) is a writer, author of a benefits briefing paper Universal Credit and the Self Employed and numerous articles in Permaculture Magazine and The Land.

She has just finished studying for an MA Professional Writing, and is poised to apply to Glasgow University to do a Doctorate in Fine Art.

Her current works in progress are a dystopian romance thriller called The Scottish Exiles and a Scottish Supplement to the DIY Planning Handbook by Simon Fairlie.  She has been keeping a journal since 1990, and sometimes drafts legal documents and other boring stuff.

She has lots to say about lots of things but sometimes simply ends up quoting Basil Fawlty, Reginald Perrin or Arthur Dent. She has a tuneless song called I’m a Lucky Parker, which doesn’t sound very nice but really, really works.

You can contact her via Facebook.
